Snow Crab
The Queen of shellfish
The Snow Crab (Chionoecetes opilio), also called Queen Crab, has a very wide distribution on the Canadian coasts of the Northwest Atlantic Ocean, up to Newfoundland and Greenland and in the North Pacific Ocean from Canada and Alaska to the coasts of Russia, Japan and Korea. This Crab is caught by pots and traps or trawls in some fisheries.
The catches of the last decade are above 100 thousand tons per year, with significant consumption in North America, Europe and especially in China, Korea and Japan, where it is highly appreciated for its soft and slightly sweet meat.
Our product comes mainly from Greenland, captured by pots and traps, where the cold waters of the Atlantic Ocean give the product an extraordinary quality. After capturing its stew and deep freezing it on the factory ship to ensure his maximum freshness.
